Business Thinking Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
This will be the company’s first reporting year of any emissions so will therefore be the baseline and the current emissions. The company will cover all scopes here to allow for reporting to continue in the coming years.

Carbon Reduction Performance
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next 11 years to 11 TCO-E by 2032. This is a reduction of 35.18%
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets. Our current carbon reductions initiatives include:
Car Sharing
This reduction of car emissions will greatly contribute to the company’s carbon emissions and the continued emphasis conveyed to employees will assist to the organisations pledge to achieve carbon net Zero by 2050.
Remote/Flexible Working
The change to company culture, enforced by the closure of shared office space in light of COVID-19, will remain in place. We will continue to encourage flexible/home working patterns, which will allow carbon emissions, created by commuting and office energy usage to be kept to a minimum.
PC to Laptop Transition
This transition facilitates the organisations’ goal to reduce carbon emissions as the use of Laptops and docking stations in comparison to desktop PCs will reduce energy usage.
In the Future we Hope to Implement Further Measures Such as:
Office Lighting
The goal to replace all tubular lamp lighting solutions with LED over the next year will greatly improve energy efficiency, reduce the use of legacy resources, and contribute to energy conservation.
As reported by the carbon trust:
“Lighting upgrades from conventional lighting to LED technology can provide savings of up to 80%
(depending on the efficiency of the existing technology)”
This will lead to a save in housekeeping costs and improve the carbon impact Business Thinking has, this will allow the company to effectively pursue carbon net zero in the coming years.
Reduction of Employee Travel to Clients
Another goal and initiative from the company is to reduce the amount of travel to clients’ workplaces, particularly places further afield. This will facilitate the reduction of scope 3 emissions in the future. On client request, the company will allow travel but will default to public transport to mitigate any carbon emissions.
Wider Employee Training on Carbon Reduction
A potential future activity for the organisation will roll out employee training on personal carbon reduction to reduce the wider impacts and scope 3 indirect emissions.
